vCloud Director 5.1 was recently announced at VMworld 2012, and on September 10, vCloud Director 5.1 was officially released. Since many of you have existing vCloud Director 1.5 installations, here is a guide to help you upgrade to vCloud Director 5.1.
Since there wasn’t a keynote today, we’ll share some breakout sessions and other content that we enjoyed throughout the day.
Another great day at VMworld 2012 in San Francisco. This morning’s keynote featured VMware’s CTO Steve Herrod explaining VMware’s vision for end user computing (EUC). We’re in the middle of a fundamental shift in EUC, where the days of IT telling users what to do are over. IT needs to respond with new, transformative technologies to broker, secure, and deliver the apps and data that users are demanding to any device, anytime, anywhere. To accomplish this, VMware has highlighted a few of their technologies in their growing EUC portfolio.
Today has been a day of big announcements. I’ll start with the introduction to vCloud Suite, straight from the horse’s mouth - http://www.vmware.com/products/datacenter-virtualization/vcloud-suite/overview.html
Today is 0-day for VMware’s annual VMworld conference, held this year in San Francisco. While the conference goes into full swing tomorrow, today was filled with plenty of activities. VMworld is a big deal for our virtualization team – we get some awesome opportunities to learn about new VMware products and initiatives in the general sessions, sharpen our skills through focused break-out sessions and hands-on-labs, and network with our peers in the industry.
It’s that time of year again! Attending VMworld is always a great way to enhance your knowledge on specific subjects by attending breakout sessions presented by experts in the field of virtualization and cloud computing. Since the conference is only four days long, we have to look at the vast number of breakout sessions being offered and try to narrow down the sessions to which we want to allocate our very scarce time. With that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of sessions I’m excited to see, and I thought I’d share them with you all.
